This Thai mango martini recipe is the real deal. It is blended with fresh ripe mangoes rather than a packaged juice to give you the absolute best mango flavor.

This tropical cocktail is made in a large batch, enough for four people and it's easy to increase as needed. It makes a great drink to serve guests at any party, especially one with a Thai or Asian theme. Just pick up a couple ripe mangoes, some dry vermouth, and choose your favorite vodka, and you're good to go.

Ingredients

For the Mango Purée:

  • 2 fresh mangoes, ripe, or 2 cups cubed frozen mango

  • 1 teaspoon lime juice

  • 1/3 cup water

  • 1 tablespoon sugar

For the Martinis:

  • 4 ounces dry vermouth

  • 8 ounces vodka

  • 1 cup ice, crushed, or a few ice cubes if using a blender

Steps to Make It

Make the Mango Purée

  1. Gather the ingredients.

  2. Place mango cubes in a blender or food processor.

  3. Add the lime juice, water, and sugar.

  4. Blend well to create a smooth puree.

Make the Martinis

Unlike most "martini" recipes, this one is blended. This helps integrate the thick puree with the other ingredients and creates a luscious and slushy drink that is perfect for summer.

  1. Make the mango puree and leave it in the blender.

  2. Add the vermouth, vodka, and a handful of ice cubes (or up to 3/4 cup crushed ice).

  3. Blend well until it is nice and smooth.

Tips

  • You can easily adjust the drink to find a good balance of sweet and sour that suits your taste. Add more sugar if you prefer it sweeter, or more lime juice if it's too sweet. If the alcohol is too strong for you, add more ice. When making these adjustments, give it another whirl in the blender.
  • While it is best prepared right before serving, blended cocktails can be prepared ahead of time. Simply store the finished drink in a covered container (the blender pitcher works, too) in the freezer. Take it out a few minutes before serving to let it thaw a bit, then stir it well.
